Rodrigues picked up the right hamstring injury on August 3, while playing for Southern Brave in the women’s Hundred in Cardiff. The BCCI’s medical team later confirmed it was a high-grade tear and eventually ruled her out of the T20 Asia Cup in the UAE in August-September, and the Asian Games in Japan in September, both tournaments India won.
She also missed the just-concluded ODI and T20I series against Zimbabwe at home, which India won 3-0, in both formats.
In an Instagram post, she said that her “hamstring has been declared fit”. “After 3 months of rehab. Now I can’t wait to get going (sic),” she further added in the caption.
India’s next assignment is a multi-format tour of South Africa in December, when they will play a one-off Test, three ODIs and as many T20Is. She is also likely to play for Mumbai in the ongoing Senior Women’s T20 Trophy.
