New Delhi:

The stock market closed in the green on Wednesday for the fifth consecutive session. Sensex closed at 77,301.40 with a gain of 383.55 points and Nifty closed at 23,960.60 with a gain of 149.75 points.

This rise was seen in the Indian stock market due to the fall in crude oil. However, another reason for this boom is foreign investors. Foreign investors (FIIs) made heavy purchases in the Indian stock market for the fourth consecutive day and bought shares worth Rs 7,284.04 crore.

This shows that the confidence of foreign investors in the Indian stock market has returned again.

According to exchange data, on Wednesday, FIIs bought shares worth Rs 21,607.38 crore and sold shares worth Rs 14,323.35 crore. In this way the net purchase of FII was Rs 7,284.03 crore.

A day earlier on Tuesday also, FIIs had made net purchases of Rs 6,836.81 crore.

The figure of purchases made by FIIs on Wednesday is the highest since October 2025. This means that after one year, foreign investors have invested so much money in the stock market.

More than Rs 17,000 crore invested in November alone

Foreign investors (FIIs) are continuously investing money in the Indian stock market. FIIs have made purchases in the Indian market in 6 out of the last 7 sessions.

In the very first week of November, FIIs have purchased more than Rs 17 thousand crores.

Whereas, earlier in September and October, FIIs had sold shares worth more than Rs 90 thousand crores.

Why did FII come back?

After a long time, FIIs have again expressed confidence in the Indian stock market. There are three big reasons for the return of foreign investors to the Indian market:-

  • First: Earlier, foreign investors were investing money in markets like Taiwan and Korea. But in October there was a sale of about 45 billion dollars. Foreign investors are withdrawing money from those markets and investing it in the Indian market.
  • Second: Indian companies have presented very strong financial results in the second quarter (July-September) of 2026-27. This has increased the confidence of investors.
  • third: US bond yields have fallen and crude oil prices have fallen to a 19-session low, which has boosted the Indian economy.

Share market continues to rise

Diwali celebrations continue in the stock market. The stock market is rising due to foreign investors and falling prices of crude oil.

On Wednesday, the Sensex closed at 77,301.40. This is the highest level after two months. At one time during trading, it had reached 77,396.04 with a rise of 478.19 points.

In the last five trading sessions, the Sensex has gained 4,055.37 points or 5.53%, while the Nifty has gained 1,261.75 points or 5.55%.

The price of crude oil is continuously falling. On Wednesday, the price of bent crude fell by 0.73% to $ 102.8 per barrel.
