Salami Nominated for Burlsworth Trophy

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – OL Terrence Salami represents Rutgers football on the list of Burlsworth Trophy nominees announced this week. The Trophy is given to the most outstanding football player who began his career as a walk-on and has distinguished themselves through their performance, determination and perseverance.

In his sixth year with the Scarlet Knights, Salami worked his way up the depth chart and has started all eight games at center so far this year. Overall, the Willingboro, New Jersey, native has played in 31 games for RU since arriving on campus, continuing the program’s strong tradition of walk-on contributions.

Enrolled in the Graduate School of Professional Science, Salami earned his undergraduate degree as an information technology and informatics major. He is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, twice named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and part of Rutgers’ nation-leading Hampshire Honor Society scholars.

The Scarlet Knights are back in action Saturday at Wisconsin. Kickoff is set for 4:15 p.m. ET/3:15 p.m. local on Big Ten Network.
