The Honda Africa Twin 1150 2027 makes its debut at EICMA with the most extensive update in its history, ten years after the launch of the CRF1000L.
The parallel-twin engine grows to 1,131 cc, with a 94 mm bore and a 12.1:1 compression ratio, and delivers 119 hp and 119 Nm. Frame and swingarm are 1.4 kg lighter, and the new fuel tank extends partly under the seat to lower the centre of gravity. The Showa EERA suspension, for its part, integrates the Skyhook Control system. Riding Modes go from four to six, all customisable, while the instrumentation has two screens, 5.7″ and 7″, with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. The handlebars and footpegs have been redesigned and define a more active riding position for the rider. The range comprises three versions, sharing engine, frame and electronics. What sets them apart, by contrast, are the front wheel, suspension, weight and fuel tank. The first is the standard Africa Twin, with a 21″ front wheel, an 18.8-litre tank and a weight of 237 kg, and it is the most balanced of the three. Then there is the 245 kg Adventure Sports, which has a 19″ front wheel, a 24.2-litre tank for a range of about 480 km, E-Combined ABS and, in Italy, only a manual gearbox. Its Honda Sensing Ride variant adds the DCT and two radars for adaptive cruise control, collision warnings and blind-spot detection, for a total of 256 kg. Rounding out the trio is the off-road-focused Enduro Sports, the biggest novelty of the range and the only one without the electrically adjustable windscreen with 130 mm of travel. It weighs 228 kg and has mechanical suspension with 240 and 230 mm of travel, 260 mm of ground clearance, a manual gearbox and HRC Tricolour livery.
