Before Diwali, government employees eagerly wait for the bonus. On one hand, while the Central Government has released Diwali bonus for railway workers and other government employees, on the other hand, many state governments have also released Diwali bonus for the government employees working there. The latest news has come from Uttarakhand, where the government of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced the gift of Diwali bonus for the eligible government employees of the state.
30 days adhoc bonus approved, will get Rs 6908
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved 30 days adhoc bonus for the financial year 2025-26. Under this, a maximum bonus of Rs 6,908 will be given to eligible employees. The Finance Department has issued a government order in this regard.
This time the benefit of bonus will not be limited only to regular employees, but on-charge employees will also get its benefit. Not only this, eligible employees of aided educational institutions and local bodies will also get the benefit of bonus, while daily wage employees who fulfill the prescribed conditions will also be given bonus.
Which employees will get bonus?
According to the government order, not only the government employees of Group C and Group D will get the benefit of bonus, those non-gazetted employees of Group B, whose grade pay is up to Rs 4,800, will also get the benefit of ad-hoc bonus.
In the new pay scale, this limit is fixed at Level-8 i.e. salary level of Rs 47,600 to Rs 1,51,100. That means eligible non-gazetted employees coming up to this level will also be under the ambit of bonus.
Which employees will not get the benefit?
Employees who are already covered under any other productivity based bonus scheme will not be given the benefit of this ad-hoc bonus. Daily wage employees will have to fulfill the prescribed conditions to get the bonus.
With this decision of the government, thousands of employees of the state are expected to get relief before Diwali. Eligible employees will be given a maximum of Rs 6,908 as ad-hoc bonus for 30 days and they will have a separate fund for Diwali purchases.
