BMW cut its 2026 Automotive segment EBIT margin forecast to a range from a 0.5% loss to a 0.5% profit Tuesday and lowered its full-year delivery outlook as portfolio and structural measures affect fourth-quarter earnings.
The new margin range is negative 0.5% to positive 0.5%, down from 1% to 3%. The forecast reflects fourth-quarter charges tied to expanded portfolio and structural measures. The company now expects full-year deliveries to decline moderately, revising its previous forecast of a slight decline.
BMW tied its portfolio measures to demand for Neue Klasse models. It has introduced additional production shifts at an early stage. The faster production ramp-up creates an opportunity to phase out earlier vehicle and technology generations sooner, including selected vehicles using Gen5 battery technology. BMW also plans to accelerate restructuring.
In June, BMW lowered its 2026 Automotive margin forecast to 1% to 3%, from 4% to 6%. That outlook change came amid China’s downturn, conditions related to the Middle East and additional cost measures, and formed part of a wider round of German automaker outlook cuts.
BMW is scheduled to publish its third-quarter report Wednesday, Nov. 4.
