Embedding regulatory reporting in factory hardware lets Volvo Trucks turn compliance into a reason to choose its connected services
Volvo Trucks drivers can now handle Romania’s mandatory e-Transport compliance reporting on the cab’s own screens, after Aiden Auto embedded its RO e-Trans service in the infotainment system and Volvo Connect portal. Romanian and Czech customers get it first, with wider European rollout planned.
Romanian rules require freight movements to be declared to the national tax authority, which issues unique transport codes. Fleets can keep filing through existing back-office tools, and the codes reach the truck automatically, replacing paper printouts and text messages.
The service also runs the mandatory real-time location feed through the truck’s factory-fitted modem, letting drivers check active codes and reporting status on the side display. With no phone or aftermarket tracker needed, Aiden Auto says driver distraction falls too.
Aiden Auto calls the integration a market first and says it builds on its SENT GEO service in Poland, suggesting embedded software can follow national freight rules as they multiply. RO e-Trans runs on Volvo models from 2021 with the latest side display.
