SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – We are not the only ones looking to celebrate Halloween by getting some energy out. The country’s largest dog park located in Santa Fe is giving our furry friends the opportunity to join in the festivities.
Both dogs and their owners were dressed to the nines in spooky, or sometimes adorable, costumes. Then, the more than 100 participants and their canines were let loose on the 138 acres of open space and trails at Frank Ortiz Dog Park. “We have 365 degree views of the Jemez Mountains, the Sangres and the Ortiz Mountains ranging from here. We have a beautiful arroyo that runs through the park and we have just endless amount of trails,” Jane Larson, Founder of the nonprofit Dog Park Project, said.
Larson said the Frank Ortiz Dog Park is Santa Fe’s most visited public space for pet owners.
