8th Pay Commission Latest News: The expectations of central government employees and pensioners regarding the 8th Pay Commission are continuously increasing. Everyone is waiting to see how much the salary, pension and allowances will increase in the new pay commission. These include House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) and dearness allowance (DA) involves a demand for change. If these proposals are approved, there may be a good change in the monthly salary of the employees. This means that central employees can get a big gift.

Demand for increase in HRA by 36%

Employee organizations say that house rents and property prices are continuously increasing in big cities. In such a situation, the existing house rent allowance is not enough for the employees. Keeping this in view, All India NPS Employees Federation (AINPSEF) has proposed a change in HRA rates. The organization demands that HRA should be increased to 36 percent in X category cities, 24 percent in Y category cities and 12 percent in Z category cities.

Will DA be added to basic salary?

There is also intense discussion regarding Dearness Allowance (DA) in the 8th Pay Commission. According to experts, when DA reaches a certain level, the possibility of merging it with the basic salary can be discussed. If DA is merged with basic salary in future, then its benefits will not be limited to basic salary only. This may also affect the calculation of other salary based allowances including HRA. Apart from this, changes may also be seen in the calculation of pension. This means that employees can benefit in terms of total salary and retirement benefits.
