The partners did not disclose ownership, investment or production locations for the joint venture, which targets the global market
Yanfeng International and speaker maker Tonly have formed a joint venture to supply integrated cabin audio systems, combining Yanfeng’s automotive audio business with Tonly’s consumer electronics expertise. The partners did not disclose ownership, investment or where the venture will produce.
Yanfeng brings car audio products, experience integrating seating and other cabin components, and automotive-grade production. Tonly will carry its speaker technology over from consumer electronics. Together they plan to cover R&D, supply chain, manufacturing and global delivery.
“Together, we will build an end-to-end competitive advantage spanning R&D, supply chain, manufacturing, and global delivery, bring more immersive and personalized auditory smart cabin experiences to consumers worldwide,” said Zang Chungao, Chief Executive of Yanfeng International.
Premium in-car audio has long been dominated by Western brands such as Harman and Bose. Pairing a top-15 global supplier with a consumer audio specialist gives Yanfeng a lower-cost route into the segment, as sound quality becomes a bigger selling point in Chinese smart cabins.
