WIESBADEN, Germany – U.S. European Command hosted a Chiefs of Mission conference at Clay Kaserne on Oct. 27th to align coordination and perspectives on key initiatives including regional threats, alliance requirements, deterrence, readiness, and partnership priorities.
Conference attendees included senior leaders from the command’s headquarters, component commands and the U.S. Department of State, including U.S. ambassadors and chargés d’affaires representing U.S. interests across Europe. Panel discussions focused on implementing President Trump’s national security and defense directives in Europe.
“Our priorities—to protect the homeland, project combat power, and position the Alliance—rely fundamentally on the trust we build with our interagency partners and with our Allies,” said Gen. Alexus Grynkewich, commander of U.S. European Command. “Our daily coordination with the Department of State is the cornerstone of defending America’s interests in the region, ensuring that diplomatic strength and military readiness remain completely synchronized across Europe.”
U.S. European Command routinely engages with U.S. diplomatic and military leaders to strengthen implementation of U.S. foreign-policy and national-security objectives in Europe. These engagements help ensure a shared understanding of regional security challenges and opportunities to enhance relationships with Allies and partners.
“This opportunity to discuss U.S. foreign-policy and national-security objectives across Europe using a whole-of-government approach, allows U.S. European Command to connect diplomatic engagement with military planning, posture, access, interoperability, resilience, and the ability to respond to crises alongside Allies and partners,” said Ms. Sandra Oudkirk, U.S. European Command Foreign Policy Advisor. “The insights gathered during this event will be implemented alongside Allies and partners in Europe, a reflection of U.S. commitment to addressing shared security concerns.”
