A 50-year-old fugitive wanted on charges of attempted rape of a child and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes was arrested in Seattle on Oct. 27, authorities said.

Phillip Wayne Pitts was arrested without incident in the 5400 block of Delridge Way Southwest and booked into King County Jail, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

The King County Sheriff’s Office issued a felony warrant for Pitts on Feb. 23 after he failed to appear for a court hearing related to the charges.

The warrant set bond at $100,000 and was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force.

Pitts was first arrested April 5, 2024, during a regional operation led by the Washington Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, hosted by the Seattle Police Department.

The task force includes multiple agencies focused on protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation.

The Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force is a partnership of federal, state, and local law enforcement officers from Washington, Oregon, and Alaska.
