Summary

Trip.com Group is building live entertainment into a travel demand channel, moving beyond concert tickets and hotel stays to sell attractions, ground transport, and dining around shows. Edison Chen, vice president of destination marketing and strategic alliances, said most concertgoers ideally wanted to spend an average of four days at the destination, and described them as “artist-first” rather than “destination-first” travelers who pick hotels by proximity to the venue and will pay up for better seats and rooms. The company said bookings for concert travel packages rose 64% year over year in the first half of 2026, with music-related package trips up 80% in the second quarter alone. Trip.com entered live-entertainment travel in Asia about a year ago through a partnership with Live Nation, and in November 2025 began selling concert, sports, and theater tickets directly through an agreement with Dublin-based ticketing firm Coras, giving it primary inventory across European football, U.S. sports, Broadway, and the London West End. After an exclusive presale for BTS concerts in Bangkok, flight bookings from Hong Kong to Bangkok roughly tripled and bookings from Singapore rose about 200%, according to Jesse Yang, head of corporate branding and global events partnership. A new Trip Events section on the homepage lists shows even where Trip.com has no ticketing relationship, while Live Nation Asia expands its venue footprint in Bangkok, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
