TOLEDO, Ohio — The City of Toledo’s third-quarter 2026 crime statistics show decreases in several main crime categories.
When compared to third-quarter statistics in 2025, there was a notable drop in crime rates. From Jan. 1 through Sept. 30, homicides declined by 26.7%. Robberies also decreased by 18.9%. Auto thefts fell by 6.4% and theft from motor vehicles fell by 6.4%.
Burglaries rose by 1.3% and persons shot in non-self-inflicted incidents increased by 18.6% compared to 2025.
“Public safety is about more than responding to crime. It is about building a community where people feel safe in their neighborhoods, where families have opportunities to succeed, and where residents have a voice in shaping their future,” Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz said.
