MADRID — The combination of an experimental drug from Tango Therapeutics and Revolution Medicines’ Rasonque led to tumor responses in 82% of patients with a certain type of advanced pancreatic cancer, clinical trial results reported Friday showed.
The responses were also durable: 88% of the patients were still alive without tumor progression when assessed at nine months.
The new data bolster the theory that patients with pancreatic cancer can derive more benefit from combinations of targeted drugs than single drugs. The Tango regimen is also notable for the absence of chemotherapy, long considered a standard treatment for the aggressive cancer.
