After much anticipation fuelled with tears, tantrums and excitement, the sun has set on series 8.

Its thrilling finale climaxed with Queen of Queens, as RuPaul Charles declared Flesh as the official winner and the UK’s Next Drag Race Superstar and the proud recipient of a cash prize of £25k.

Ten weeks ago, twelve queens sashayed into the werkroom with high hopes and big lewks, and in the final episode, only four finalists remained:

  • Alik from Brighton
  • Flesh from London
  • Mocha from Essex
  • Naya Thorn from Dudley

Bing bang bong! The four finalists were put through their paces one last time in a spectacular and emotionally charged episode as the queens competed in their final challenge, which saw choreographer, Claudimar Neto, coach the queens as they performed an extra special mega mix of Drag Race UK’s most iconic girl group songs.

As ever, it was a family lineup for the finale with Michelle Visage, Alan Carr and Graham Norton forming the judging panel while last year’s winner and reigning champion Bones dropped by along with this season’s eliminated queens. RuPaul brought back the girls for one final catwalk and a rousing musical performance with the four finalists – a fitting celebration of the unforgettable songs and moments that has shaped Drag Race UK herstory.

The time came for the top 4 to become the top 3, and bidding farewell to Alik, RuPaul ru-vealed that Flesh, Mocha and Naya Thorn has secured their places and would ALL lipsync for the crown.

And so three queens stood before Ru. After an epic lip-sync battle, where everything was left on the runway, RuPaul declared Flesh as the winner and the reigning queen Bones officially handed over the crown and sceptre.

Bones being Flesh’s best friend, and together they are popular duo Flesh and Bones, and are both part of the Heavenly Bodies family.

On winning Flesh said “oh my god, this is crazy! I am over the moon, RuPaul where is my cheque?! To be here with Bones is just the perfect moment, this is everything I have ever dream of and more, and I am so proud of myself!”
