CASPER, Wyo. — A Riverton man with previous Natrona County convictions heard 10 felony charges and got a $100,000 cash-only bond on Tuesday after an encounter with law enforcement that led to a crash through the front of the Hat Six Travel Plaza this past weekend.
“I’m kind of foggy from all of that,” Bryan Lee Dunihoo, 52, said at his initial appearance in circuit court before Judge Cynthia Sweet.
An affidavit was not available on Tuesday, but Assistant District Attorney Brian Marvel told the judge that the initial estimates for the total property damage were at least $150,000.
Dunihoo is charged with:
- Aggravated Eluding: Causing Over $10,000 of Property Damage
- Aggravated Eluding: Causing or Attempting to Cause Bodily Injury
- Property Damage: Over $1,000 (Windows on North Loop Road)
- Theft (White Ford Cargo Van)
- Property Damage: Over $1,000 (White Ford Cargo Van)
- Property Damage: Over $1,000 (Multiple Vehicle Windows)
- Property Damage: Over $1,000 (Hat Six Travel Plaza)
- Aggravated Assault and Battery x3
Dunhoo is presumed innocent unless found or pleading guilty.
Marvel told the judge that three of the felony charges of aggravated assault stem from the alleged “disregard for human life” for people who were in the store at the time of the crash.
“I feared for my life,” Dunihoo said, claiming he wanted to be seen on the travel plaza cameras, which was why he lay down and surrendered to arrest at that point. “I was not being aggravated or doing this out of anger or anything.”
Dunihoo said he’d lived in Riverton for about three years and ran his own tree servicing company. Marvel said Dunihoo had previous convictions for reckless endangerment in Natrona County, which court records show was originally a felony case.
