The past few weeks have seen Kings prospect Kaleb Lawrence regain his scoring touch and flourish in a fourth-line role for coach Andrew Lord. However, his lone goal for Ontario wasn’t enough on Friday night, as the Reign dropped their sixth straight game.
Abbotsford excited the home crowd by taking a 1-0 lead late in the first period. During the middle frame, Lawrence found the back of the net for the third time in his last four games, tying things up at 1-1. Before the second intermission arrived, though, the Canucks reclaimed the lead and never looked back.
Goaltender Erik Portillo stopped 32 of 34 shots faced in the losing effort.
FINAL
ONT – 1
ABB – 2A terrific performance from Erik Portillo goes to waste, as the netminder turns aside 32 of 34 shots. Unfortunately, the Reign offense could not provide enough support, as Ontario drops its sixth consecutive game. The two teams will meet again tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.

This is Ontario’s longest losing streak since March 2023, when they lost 10 straight under then-first-year head coach Marco Sturm. That was nearly four years ago.
