Rabat – Morocco’s exports maintained strong growth through September 2026, with the aeronautics and automotive industries leading the expansion, according to the latest foreign trade figures from the Office des Changes.

Aeronautics exports recorded one of the strongest sectoral performances, rising 22.3% year-on-year to more than MAD 26.21 billion (approximately $2.82 billion) during the first nine months of 2026.

The increase reflects stronger international sales in aircraft assembly and Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS), two key segments of Morocco’s aeronautics industry.

Exports from the assembly segment grew 27.5%, while EWIS sales increased 12%, contributing to the sector’s overall performance.

The figures, published in the Office des Changes’ latest monthly foreign trade indicators bulletin, highlight the growing contribution of advanced manufacturing industries to Morocco’s export activity.

The automotive industry also maintained its upward trajectory, with exports reaching MAD 132.11 billion (approximately $14.21 billion) by the end of September, marking a 14.3% increase compared with the same period in 2025.

Several branches contributed to the sector’s growth. Wiring exports increased 16.1%, while automotive construction recorded a 15.1% rise.

The exterior segment posted the strongest growth among the automotive branches listed in the bulletin, with exports climbing 39.3%.

Agriculture and phosphates record moderate growth

Morocco’s agricultural and agri-food exports also registered positive results during the first nine months of the year.

The sector generated more than MAD 72.43 billion (approximately $7.79 billion) in exports, representing a 10.7% increase year-on-year.

Phosphates and derivatives recorded more modest growth. Exports reached MAD 74.65 billion (approximately $8.03 billion), up 0.2% compared with the same period last year.

The figures point to varying growth rates across Morocco’s main export industries, with aeronautics and automotive products recording considerably stronger increases.

Not all sectors followed the upward trend. Textile and leather exports fell 5% to MAD 32.15 billion (approximately $3.46 billion) by the end of September 2026.

The electronics and electrical industries also recorded a slight contraction, with exports declining 0.4% to MAD 10.3 billion (approximately $1.11 billion).

Despite these sectoral setbacks, Morocco’s overall export performance remained positive.

Morocco’s total exports rise 10.7%

Morocco’s total exports reached MAD 384.05 billion (approximately $41.30 billion) during the first nine months of 2026, marking a 10.7% increase compared with the corresponding period in 2025.

The results underline the contribution of the country’s industrial sectors to export growth, with aeronautics and automotive manufacturing emerging as two of the strongest-performing branches.
