An 18-year-old suspected of fatally stabbing a man at South Station in August has turned himself in to police in Texas, officials said.
Marico Levy of Aubrey, Texas, was charged in August with murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in the fatal stabbing of Latavius Owens, 29, of Memphis, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
Around 5:33 p.m. on Aug. 12, Boston police responded to a report of a person stabbed at South Station, Boston police said.
Owens, who was a father of five, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said in a press conference. The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was involved in an altercation with another person on an escalator leaving the station, police said.
On Aug. 18, a warrant was issued out of Boston Municipal Court on Tuesday for Levy, who was 17 at the time of the stabbing, court records show.
An arraignment date has not yet been set and Levy’s attorney information was not publicly listed Sunday night.
