There is uncalled traveling in the NBA, and then there is what LaMelo Ball did on Wednesday night.
That’s not a travel, that’s a vacation.
Even LaMelo’s brother, Lonzo Ball, was calling him out.
It was right in front of the official — who should have been focused on Ball’s feet, making sure he was behind the arc. To the credit of the official NBA referees account, they owned that this was a missed call.
For everyone asking, “how is this legal?” It’s not! He gathers with his right foot on the floor and would be permitted two steps by rule (left-right). He takes four steps after gathering the ball and travels. https://t.co/dSitGeRNSD

Don’t let this take away from Ball’s impressive Timberwolves debut: 21 points and six assists in 28 minutes, and he was +18. It also helped that Anthony Edwards was on a heater.

But that absolutely was a travel.
