A home health aide is facing a manslaughter charge in the death of an 81-year-old woman in Queens.
The victim suffered excessive bleeding after the aide allegedly performed a medical procedure, police sources said.
Police responded to a 911 call at Lillie Hill’s home on 146th Street in Jamaica Thursday afternoon. The caller reported a female in distress who was vomiting, police sources said.
First responders found Hill unresponsive. They rushed her to Jamaica Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A 46-year-old Brooklyn woman worked as Hill’s home health aide. She allegedly administered an unspecified medical procedure, according to police sources, which caused excessive bleeding.
Neighbors are stunned, and said Hill had been sick for some time. She used a wheelchair to get around.
“It’s just unfortunate,” neighbor Miguel Robinson said. “If it was a sickness that took her, I could understand. But with all these different accusations now, it’s, like, sad.”
The medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death.
“It makes me scared to get an aide for my mom. You never know what kind of character they have or anything like that,” neighbor Joseph Howe said.
