Citizens who daily pass through the Historic Center of Chihuahua denounced that several establishments located on Victoria Street, at Third Street, have occupied a considerable part of the commercial corridor, which is why they demand that municipal authorities clarify who authorized the use of this public space.
Through photographs sent to Nuestra Noticias Chihuahua, the complainants showed how various businesses have installed metal structures, roofs, tables and delimited areas that, they claim, have extended to occupy practically half a street.
The situation has generated annoyance among those who frequent this area of the first square of the city, as they consider that the spaces intended for the free movement of pedestrians should not be reduced to favor commercial activities without there being clarity about the corresponding permits.
“Under whose protection have they taken over half a street?” questioned the citizens, who requested the intervention of the Directorate of Urban Development and Ecology.
The dissenters even resorted to irony to question the actions of the municipal authorities, asking if a part of the street will also be sold to these merchants, as happened with Bustamante Street and the Alsuper store.
