Police said the first incident happened in the Bucktown neighborhood’s 2300-block of North Lister Avenue just before 4:15 p.m.
Lee allegedly tried to carjack a vehicle while a woman and her two children, 11 months old and 4 years old, were inside, according to court documents.
Around the same time as the attempted carjacking, scanner audio captured officers responding to an reported child kidnapping attempt.
“Attempted kidnapping of a child. 2400 North Damen; Damen and Fullerton,” a voice on the radio said. “The child is safe and OK, but the offender, who was in a white box truck, then fled.”
Police said the suspect went to a nearby carwash in the 2100-block of West Fullerton and carjacked a woman after getting out of a white van.
“I guess he jumped in the front seat while she was vacuuming the backseat,” the voice on the scanner said.
Lee was due in court on Saturday.
