Mansour Automotive Group disclosed the timeline during a meeting between Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and company executives in the New Administrative Capital on Tuesday, where officials reviewed progress on the project.
The facility, known as MAC for Transport Vehicles Manufacturing, will focus on producing electric vehicles and their components, with an initial production capacity of 50,000 environmentally friendly vehicles. The first phase represents an investment of more than $150 million.
Covering 126,000 square metres, including a 55,000-square-metre building footprint, the plant is expected to create between 6,000 and 10,000 direct and indirect jobs.
Mansour Group Chairman Sir Mohamed Mansour said construction had advanced significantly since work began in late 2025, Daily News Egypt reported. He added that the factory would incorporate modern, environmentally friendly technologies, support the transfer of expertise and help meet growing demand for electric vehicles in Egypt.
The project is also expected to strengthen Egypt’s position in the regional automotive industry by expanding local manufacturing capabilities and reducing reliance on imported vehicles and components.
Egypt targets 100,000 vehicles in annual production
The investment comes as Egypt pursues its National Automotive Industry Development Programme (AIDP), which aims to raise annual domestic vehicle production to 100,000 units by 2030.
During the meeting, Madbouly reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting automotive manufacturers and their supply chains through policies designed to attract investment, localise production and facilitate technology transfers.
Mansour welcomed the government’s backing, crediting President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s industrial development agenda and Egypt Vision 2030 for creating opportunities to expand manufacturing despite regional and global economic challenges.
