DERBY — The City of Derby has been notified that Burns Construction will begin milling and paving Derby Avenue Sunday evening, November 8 at 5:00p.m. Temporary NO PARKING signs will be posted on both sides of Derby Avenue, from Main Street to Division Street, with the following restrictions:

Sunday, November 8, at 5:00 PM through Friday, November 13, at 6:00 AM.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • No parking during posted hours: Vehicles must be removed from the roadway between 5:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
  • Daytime parking permitted: Vehicles may park on the street between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM, provided construction is not actively taking place in that area.
  • Driveway access: The construction company will do its best to maintain access to residential driveways; however, due to the moving work zone, they cannot guarantee when or where access may temporarily be restricted.
  • Moving work zone: Milling and paving will progress along different sections of Derby Avenue. The no-parking restrictions will be reduced as sections are completed, and signs will be removed from areas where parking is permitted.
  • Towing enforcement: Vehicles left in violation of the posted parking restrictions will be subject to towing.

The project may be completed before Friday, November 13; however, the construction company cannot provide an exact completion time or schedule for individual sections of the roadway.

We ask residents to pay close attention to posted signs and plan accordingly. If you have questions or concerns during the construction, please speak with an officer assigned to the construction detail.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as this important road improvement project moves forward. Thank you for helping us keep the work zone safe for construction crews, motorists, and residents.
