Two Pitt faculty members made the 2026 Rising Stars of Science World Ranking: Sophia Choukas-Bradleyan associate professor of psychology in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, and Longfei Shangguanan assistant professor of computer science in the School of Computing and Information.
The ranking, which highlights early-career researchers who have made rapid and meaningful contributions across global scientific disciplines, was compiled by Research.com by comparing the publication records of researchers who published their first paper in the last 12 years.
Choukas-Bradley is an expert on social media use, with a particular focus on the effects of social media on the psychology of adolescent girls. Shangguan’s research interests are in Internet of Things systems, studying security, networks and hardware in connected systems.
