Brookhaven Technical Administrator Patrick Earl Brown has been placed on unpaid suspension by the City following his arrest in Louisiana.
Brown, 43, was arrested Friday, Oct. 30, by St. John the Baptist Parrish Sheriff’s Office and charged with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile. His bond was set at $75,000.
“We are aware that a city employee has been arrested in another state. Upon learning of this matter, the employee was immediately placed on administrative leave pending further review,” Police Chief Dustin Bairfield said Wednesday.
“We take these allegations seriously and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and integrity,” said Bairfield. “We are monitoring the situation and will take any appropriate action as additional information becomes available.”
Brown served on the Brookhaven School District School Board prior to taking the tech job for the City, after having been technical director for Mississippi School of the Arts.
The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
