MOBILE, Ala. — Mobile police are investigating several violent incidents over the weekend, including two shootings and a stabbing that left one man dead and three others injured.

Police say the first shooting happened around 1 a.m. Saturday on Lincoln Street in the Trinity Gardens area of north Mobile. Investigators say 26-year-old Tavaress Collins was shot and later died at a local hospital.

According to NBC 15 data, Collins’ death marks the 27th homicide in Mobile this year. Police have not identified a suspect.

Shortly before the shooting, officers responded to Billiards Club on Government Boulevard following reports of a stabbing.

Police say an argument between two groups turned into a fight. At some point, a man pulled out a knife and cut two other men. Both victims suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

On Sunday evening, officers responded to another shooting on Karagan Drive. Investigators say a man was walking down the street when someone inside an unknown vehicle fired shots, striking him. He was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

While the weekend’s violence has raised concerns, recent crime statistics show an overall decline in reported crime.

According to the FBI’s Crime Data Explorer, Mobile recorded 32 homicides in 2025, down from 38 in 2024, a decrease of about 16%.

Preliminary FBI data also shows violent crime in Mobile is down about 9% so far in 2026.

From January through September, the city reported 1,124 violent crimes, compared with 1,240 during the same period last year.

All three incidents remain under investigation.

Mobile police are asking anyone with information about these cases to contact the department. Tips can be submitted anonymously.
