TV4 News Guanajuato | Women gain ground in business; They represent up to 60% of those seeking financing from NAFIN

Women have increasingly greater presence at the head of companies and businesses in Guanajuato, where their participation in the search for financing to grow their projects is also increasing, according to National Financial (NAFIN).

Carlos Gilberto Magdaleno del Mazo, regional director of NAFIN, pointed out that among the 55 y 60% of the people it has identified in meetings and financing promotion activities are womenwho head businesses in different sectors, from restaurants and cafes to leather-footwear, technology, tourism and automotive supply companies.

“Women are increasingly important in the industry and that is why we release specific products to support women.”

Given this panorama, she explained that NAFIN has a program aimed at businesswomen that offers credits of up to three million pesoswithout the need to present a mortgage guarantee, with a maximum annual interest rate of 14.5% and payment terms of up to five years.

Financing can be used for working capital, acquisition of raw materials, purchase of fixed assets or to settle more expensive loans, with the purpose of strengthen business operations.

These supports are not limited to a economic activity in particular, but they can be requested by women who are in charge of companies from any sectorprovided they meet the corresponding financial and evaluation requirements.

“The women business program is aimed at any sector. It doesn’t matter if the woman owns the business, has a restaurant, a cafeteria, a company in the leather-footwear sector or an innovation and technology company; we are supporting her with preferential rates.”

The interest of women in joining business activity is also reflected in the tourism sectorwhere it has identified an important female presence at the head of establishments and businesses in different Magical Towns of Guanajuato.

The regional director indicated that Guanajuato is among the five entities in the country with increased demand for financing for small and medium-sized businessesso resources are also available to promote projects led by women and strengthen their participation in the state economy.
