Mexico’s Embassy in Saudi Arabia on Monday advised its citizens to refrain from nonessential travel to the kingdom, including tourism and family visits, amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East and elevated regional security risks.
In a post on the US social media platform X, the embassy also urged Mexicans living in or transiting through Saudi Arabia to remain vigilant and take additional precautions.
It urged citizens to monitor phone alerts warning of potential attacks and seek shelter at home or in a safe location at their workplace.
It also cautioned Mexicans against sharing photographs or videos of conflict-related incidents on social media.
The embassy advised citizens to follow its official social media accounts for updated information and register their personal details.
It also provided contact details for Mexican nationals requiring emergency assistance or consular services.
The latest warning came amid continued security concerns in the region, with the embassy reiterating its advice against nonessential travel to Saudi Arabia.
The embassy has issued similar warnings, urging citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and to follow local safety instructions.
Previous advisories also recommended checking flight conditions directly with airlines and airports and avoiding the circulation of images related to security incidents.
The embassy did not provide an estimate of the number of Mexican citizens currently residing in or visiting Saudi Arabia.
